Bonezzi Switzer Murphy Polito & Hupp Co. L.P.A. (BSMPH) is
proudly celebrating its 10th Anniversary in 2008. The
dynamic growth of BSMPH and the energy level of its attorneys,
which is almost tangible on a daily basis, has propelled the firm to its
premier status in the northern Ohio community.
Opening its doors in January 1998, the founding shareholders moved
forward rapidly in designing the firm’s structure, securing office
staff, space and other vital equipment. BSMPH opened its doors
in the Leader Building with eight attorneys and a seven member support
staff. Persistent growth in business has doubled the number of attorneys
to sixteen and tripled the support staff to twenty-two.
Anchored with only an initial handful of clients concentrated in the
areas of medical malpractice and toxic tort litigation, a significant
amount of time was spent by all attorneys in the firm attracting new
business during the first two years of operation. Diligent efforts to
market the talents and reputations of its well regarded, experienced
trial attorneys were met with burgeoning client response. As new client
relationships were begun, BSMPH took care to assure that all of
the clients’ needs were met or exceeded in order to prove to the clients
that trusting the expertise of BSMPH was the right decision.
BSMPH has continued to attract top litigators and now is
routinely providing an array of legal services in areas of contract law,
domestic relations, employment law, environmental law, general property
and casualty liability, labor law, organizational/institutional
liability re: sexual assault/abuse/molestation, private school law,
professional liability, residential treatment facility liability and
workers’ compensation law, in addition to continuing its long time
involvement in medical malpractice and asbestos litigation. BSMPH
now represents, on a regular basis, several leading hospitals in
northeastern Ohio, multiple nursing homes, several insurance companies,
multiple employers, multiple business entities, asbestos clients and
multiple religious and charitable organizations.
BSMPH attorneys routinely appear in state trial and appellate
courts, federal courts, before multiple state and federal governmental
agencies and before state licensing boards. The firm’s attorneys also
engage in mediations and arbitrations on a regular basis.
As BSMPH continued its expansion, eventually leasing the majority
of the
14th floor of the Leader Building, it became evident by 2006
that additional space was necessary to serve its clients’ needs.
Substantial time was devoted to planning a space expansion and
ultimately the 19th floor of the Penton Media Building was
selected as the new home of BSMPH. The upgraded space was
designed to accommodate the current needs of the law firm with
flexibility to adapt to continued growth. The new offices
were opened on January 2, 2007. Large windows with dramatic views of
Downtown Cleveland and Lake Erie wrap around the office space
integrating beauty with comfort and functionality.
Increased business, growth in size and expansion of space are nice
attributes for a law firm but they only become meaningful when
excellent results are provided for the firm’s clients. BSMPH has
obtained well in excess of one hundred defense trial verdicts and
countless more favorable dismissals without trial for its clients during
the first ten years of existence. Through diligent work of the highest
caliber the firm’s goal is to obtain even more wins for the clients it
is privileged to serve during the next ten years.
