Joseph Ostrowski, Shareholder, is a trial lawyer with extensive experience in the defense of environmental mass toxic tort claims, class actions, personal injury product and premises liability matters and is primarily involved with insurance defense. Mr. Ostrowski serves as national coordinating counsel for various clients and is responsible for managing litigation in various jurisdictions. He has represented multinational corporations, as well as regional and local businesses in both state and federal courts throughout the United States. He manages all phases of litigation. He possesses extensive experience in a wide array of environmental matters including asbestos, silica, toxic mold, trichloroethylene, lead exposure, other toxic substances and CERCLA matters. He has worked extensively with preeminent physicians, epidemiologists, industrial hygienists and other appropriate experts as it relates to the litigation environment. He also has been involved in product testing and environmental evaluations.
Mr. Ostrowski has represented many closely held corporations and small business owners in businesses in incorporation and start-up, uniform commercial code filings, business/property acquisition, due diligence, contract negotiation, franchise and licensing. He has experience in handling derivative claims, representing shareholders, as well as directors and officers. He has extensive experience in handling commercial litigation including the use of alternative dispute resolutions including mediation and arbitration.
In addition, he has considerable experience in aiding organizations seeking IRC 501(c)(3) status, representing them before the IRS and advising organizations in retaining their non-profit status and providing guidance to such organations with respect to political advocacy. He also has experience in consumer law, trademark and copyright law.
Attorney Ostrowski is former Judicial Staff Attorney for the Honorable Paul H. Mitrovich. He is a current member of Ohio State Bar Association and a participating member in the National Bankruptcy Trust Transparency Group. He is a former adjunct professor and lecturer on Business Law and Labor & Industrial Relations at the University of Akron.
